Search Hints and Syntax

The search engine implements features described at oeis.org/hints.html.

1. Number sequence search

• Consecutive terms: enter terms separated by commas or spaces:
  1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 or 10946, 17711, 28657
• Single term wildcard (_): matches any single number:
  1, 2, _, 4, 5
• Subsequence wildcard (__): matches a sequence of terms:
  1, 2, __, 8, 13

2. Field prefixes

• id:A000045: direct sequence lookup
• author:Philippe: search by author name
• keyword:core: search by OEIS keyword

3. Full-text search

Simple words are searched in descriptions and metadata using the FTS5 index:

• Fibonacci
• square numbers
• prime
